Welcome to Relevant Word, a ministry of empowerment and teaching located in the heart of Colorado Springs. We are a bible-believing church that embraces the centrality of the Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments, as the authoritative Word of God and the only sound basis for teaching, doctrine, and Christian conduct. We believe it is essential to the life of the Church that we be a company of people who want their lives to be shaped by the powerful and living Word of God.
Located at the precipice of an escarpment overlooking the city of Colorado Springs, Relevant Word routinely ministers to the underserved population of the city: the unchurched, the spiritually and emotionally wounded, and the needy. We are a large, extended family that also presents an intimate worship experience and promotes excellence in spiritual growth.
Under the leadership of our Senior Pastor, the Reverend Promise Y. Lee, Relevant Word continues to set new precedents in Christian Evangelism, establishing not only a Christian Cultural Center for worship and gathering, but also a multipurpose neighborhood DreamCenter, as well as other small groups and paraministries. Pastor Lee’s long experience and deep roots in the community have equipped him as a fierce advocate of social justice and a major leader in the Christian community.

The Art of Fence Building
A compassionate and dedicated servant of God, Pastor Promise Lee is a fervent believer in the power of prayer and fasting. Pastor Lee will frequently speak for those who have no one to speak for them: indigent families who have lost loved ones, the lonely, the sick, the forgotten Lee's calling is to the lost, to the neglected, to the abandoned. He often eschews the familiar patterns of more established ministries as he focuses on getting food and subsidy to the needy, counseling the troubled, and supporting families in crisis.
As the leader of Relevant Word, Pastor Lee emphasizes the need for and the benefits of prayer and meditation, praise, and worship. Lee underscores and reinforces every decision and every activity by invoking God's presence in them.
A combination of resourcefulness, inventiveness, wit, drive, and an unshakeable faith mitigates many obstacles in the pastor's path.
The incredible story of Promise Lee’s life has been published in his newly released book, Pardoned, which is soon to be captured as a film. Pastor Lee has accomplished more in the short time Relevant Word Ministries has been organized than many larger ministries have done in four decades. Dismissing warnings that things can't be done, Lee simply does them. If you need a fence, build a fence.
In so doing, Pastor Lee and the Relevant Word family have built a solid, anointed, and impressive foundation for what will certainly become one of the area's leading ministries. With new thinking and new execution of new revelation, Pastor Lee — going from the pulpit to the hospital, from the Home Depot to the streets, from the highways to the funeral homes to the mark of the high calling — continues to be a major influence and leader in this community.

Gifts & tithes
Offering
An offering is a free-will supplemental gift to God. When we were under the ordinance of the Law, God required complex rituals involving animal sacrifice and purification rituals. Now, all God wants is our love and our faithfulness. We can express both by sharing ourselves with God. sharing our time, sharing our talent, and sharing our treasure. Giving is often one of the weakest areas of our Christian walk. We can prosper ourselves and our community by making regular and substantive offerings to God.
"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."—1 Corinthians 9:7
Tithing
Tithing is the act of returning to God a portion of that which God has blessed us with. Tithing is an important ordinance intended to provide for the needs of God's work. It is every Christian's responsibility to tithe, to support their local churches and ministries and the work of the Lord. Tithing is our first duty and the church's first resource for its support and finance. This ministry store is not intended to replace our duty, under God, to support this ministry, as God has ordained:
"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."—Malachi 3:10
